Stonehenge

We arrived at Stonehenge the evening of the Summer Solstice. Normally you can only see it from several yards away, but on the night of the solstice they open it up so the Druids can have their pagan rituals. Apparently it is quite a party and attracts hippies and ravers of all ages. We would like to have gone, but we were worn out after finding another place to stay after discovering no one home at the B&B where we had a reservation.

We went the next day, and waited an hour or so for them to finish cleaning up the mess from the night before.

The usual Stonehenge experience.

Stonehenge is rather small, actually. Not quite as small as it's shown in Spinal Tap but it's still noticeable when you approach it from a distance that it isn't really at a distance, just small.
